Smooth Progress in Soliciting for Canadian Software

Recently, released from the Canada China Business Council,
the Canadian partner of ChinaSoft 2008, the soliciting of
Canadian software companies has been in smooth progress.
Canadian Consulate General in Chongqing, the Government of
Quebec, Canada China Business Council, and Montreal Digital
China Programme are attaching great importance to ChinaSoft
2008 and will jointly organise a delegation to take part in
the event, comprising of 10-plus software and digital
entertainment companies. On the sidelines of the event,
various one-to-one meetings will be held. The delegation
will cover sectors of software/solutions R&D (medical,
traffic, and management software etc), wireless technology,
digital entertainment, and software technology training etc. |

Up to date, a bunch of companies, including president of
Asian & Pacific Region of Softimage, a leading int’l 3D
animation and special effects software company (specially
applied for movies and games, by which Jurassic Park, Star
Wars, and Titanic were produced), president of Bug Tracker
Laboratories, a key int’l lab of digital media technology
testing (a tech partner designated by Microsoft and Game
Boy), vice president of Chinese Region of IMAX (top-class
wide screen and fulldome digital movie), founder/global
executive vice president of Boxalino (an emerging internet
search engine), CEO of Chinese Region of RIM (blackberry
mobile phone), and CEO of Xalles (specialising in M&A of
financial service and logistic software companies) confirmed
that they will participate in the event and hope to build a
bridge of exchange of software technology between Chengdu
and Canada to explore opportunities for cooperation and
partnership. On the afternoon of the 16th of May, Seminar
and One-to-one Meeting for Exchange and Cooperation of
Innovative Software between Canada and Chengdu, the first of
this kind, will be kicked off in Chengdu to brief Canada’s
experience in software, trends of digital entertainment,
int’l marketing and alliance, and wireless technology etc,
meanwhile, one-to-one meetings and opening and cooperation
ceremonies will also be held. |

On the afternoon of April 17, Softimage, known as the
world-class company of special effects and animation, will
present a technical seminar featuring “The Future World
3D”to professionals. On the occasion, CEO and CTO of Asian
and Pacific Region of Softimage as well as education experts
will demonstrate Softimage digital animation, movie & TV,
and epic game, Softimage takes the lead in designing 3-D
animation and special effects software specially used for
movies and games, by which Jurassic Park, Star Wars, and
Titanic were produced. |
